Question Rca splitters or switchers what would work best?

Hi guys il start with any help is appreciated. I have a Nad 3225pe integrated amp, a technics Sh-z200 graphics equaliser, a technics sl-pg3 cd deck and a technics sl-bd20 turn table. While I know graphics equalisers aren't for everyone I do quite enjoy minipulating the sound to suit my ears. While the graphics equaliser is fairly new to me as in purchased yesterday so far have found it great. I'm looking to now connect the cd deck up through it while I see on the back of it it does have other connectors to push a tape deck through it I wondered if it was best to push the cd deck through the same input I'm pushing the turn table through at the moment as the tape deck option has extra buttons for recording features. So I have been looking at rca splitters and rca switchers while reading other posts in the forum some more older posts seemed to go off in to tangents so figured I'd create a new post and get a fresh perspective.

I think you might be overcomplcating matters by adding yet another item in the loop. Just connect CD to tape in on the equaliser.

Graphic equalisers were usually used in the tape loops of integrated amps (which is why they often have 'tape monitor'switches on the front).

Tape loops meant that all sources of the amp could be EQ'd.

How you connect depends on which source(s) you want to EQ.
What make / model of equaliser is it?

No, and you don't need one of course.
But you've got a tape loop on your NAD amp - which is how any of its sources can be equalised.

You don't need anything more than you've already got to be able to hear your turntable or CDP via the equaliser.

Don't be put off by 'tape' labels.

Just do this:
Connect NAD tape out to EQ line in.
Connect EQ line out to NAD tape in.

Leave the NAD tape monitor selected (button in).
With the button in you will be listening to the output of the equaliser.
Input to the EQ depends on the source selected on the NAD.

(EQ can be bypassed to flat either on the front of the equaliser itself, or by deselecting the NAD tape monitor).

Are you proposing the equaliser goes after everything has been through the amplifier?

He's got the handy benefit of a tape loop on his NAD amp.
If he simply wires as detailed in post #9, any source selected on the NAD goes via the equaliser - back into the (tape) input of the NAD.
No need for any splitters or extra switches.

Had played around with cables and ports for 15 minutes after a brief archaeology dig in the loft to find some thing for the wife only went up there for an RCA cable in the first place then seen your post update. Followed your instructions and now working a treat with tape monitor button selected on the Nad and what ever source I select. I forgot to mention I have an Alexa connected also to the tuner port on and amp I can now graphic equalize the Alexa also.

I'd be tempted to neatly, temporarily re-label the NAD tape monitor button 'EQ out'.....as that's what it now is 👍

I have a little blue tooth label printer I used with my phone will see what I can make for labels after me dinner than you once again

Label created and shrunk to size. I may trimm the logo off and just have the wording.
