There is no reason that a cable will work better or worse than an other on a music style or the other.

A correct priced cable, unfinished, will cost around 3£ to 5£ the meter (made in the EU, you wil fin cheaper chinese cables).

In recent cable posts, I have seem several recommendations for Van Damme, for offering professional studio performance at a reasonable price. I have seen some Van Damme speaker cable for sale on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Van-Damme-Professional-Twin-Axial-268-545-060/dp/B0034KDGFY but I see that there are 4 wires inside - so are the red and blue wires for the speaker, and the black wires for some other use?

Yes the red and blue are for the speaker terminals, not sure what the black wires do, they are on the 4 and 6mm but not on the 2.5mm, the blue is for more robust studio work so maybe it protection. I would go for the OFC which is designed more for home use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Van-Damme-Interconnect-Directional-268-504-000-2-x-4mm/dp/B00URP9TI2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_23_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=512QkwUCOwL&dpSrc="sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=SAFKSJX07779WEEEYHXB"

However I probably would buy it from an online electrical supplier.
