quick vintage philips cd question

A friend of mine has a CD-840. I listened to it on lots of occasions and really loved it, even though it was one that looked like it had been through a couple of wars. Don't use CD that much at the moment but if one came up I think I'd probably go for it, now that this thread has sparked my memory 🙂
