im bidding to buy a samsung HT-X30 on ebay. 1 scart, 1 hdmi, 1 component, 1 composite. however its being sold as faulty, apparently the dvd bit is locking and wont work. this is fine with me because ive just bought a samsung dvd player anyway so just need it for its home cinema bit. what i need to know within the hour (thats when the bidding ends) is can i hook up my working samsung dvd player (with all the hdmi whistles and bells) to the faulty samsungHT-X30 home cinema system so that the sounds works for my telly and my dvd player to hdmi quality????

thanks!

well thats obviously sound advice, it is however going for a song, (20quid), do you know if it would be possible to run the working dvd player throught the faulty home cinema system?

alternativley do you recomend and budget (100-300quid), home cinema systems without dvd player with hdmi capability?

I'd still steer clear - bet that £20 quid's got a tenner postage charge on top, too.

Bit puzzled as to why you've just bought a standalone DVD player when you want a cinema system? I'd flog the player and get a solid all-in-one system like the LG HT902TB (list price £270, available for less) or even stretch to the Sony DAV-IS10 (list price £600, available under £400) if you prefer smaller speakers.
