Hope you can help; I'll try to be brief. I have a Sony KD5509C tele and a Yamaha RX475 receiver. I want to try Amazon Prime but want the sound from my AV gear, not the weedy TV speakers.

HDMI4 is, apparently, the one with the ARC on the tele. If I move the cable from HDMI1 to 4, will the sound come via the receiver? I could just try of course but it ain't easy to get to the sockets - hence my question here first.

I know I'll need to do a little config too. I'm with Virgin and they seem to support the app.

Thanks!

normally you put that hdmi cable from input 3 I think it is on the back of the Sony Tv and then to the Av which says ARC on the Yamaha Av and the rest of the hdmi inputs on the back of the Av from 1 onwards you put other devices in those inputs and select that input for that device

then your meant to set the AVs ARCs settings on the Av as well as the Sony TVs ARC settings in the connections menu too and then choose to turn of the TVs speakers and select stereo/Av in the Sony sound menu

should be your first port of call, to me it looks like you connect an hdmi lead from the output socket on the back of your amp to the ARC compatible hdmi input on the back of your tv, then change some settings via the menu system on your amp and everything should be ok.
