BB, can the marantz 7010 and Denon X6200 run an atmos configuration of 5.1.4 without an additional power amp, and can they handle the latest HDR formats including Dolby vision for pass through?

cheers

It will do 5.2.4 and 7.2.2 out of the box.

I was hoping they would pass through all HDR formats ....? I'm concentrating on improving my surround sound but want to future proof for at least the next 3 years or so because I will upgrade the tv to 4K when it's settled down more and don't want to be buying another reciever. Although, I could run 2 HDMI cables if this happened..

thanks - I'm edging towards the marantz, it's cheaper than the Denon :)

I have a question for big boss..dear Mr big boss, were you always big? Did you start small and expand? I have another question if not too impertinent? Do you ever smile? You look very stern! If I scowled a lot and stood on a chair? Could i be a big boss like you? Hope you can help.

Yes, stay off the drink on weekends! :)
Yes Mr boss, will do..wine women and song? I'll lay off the vino..my legs aren't what they were? So I can't chase those women anymore! And it seems all amps, cables etc all sound the same so I'm going to another hobby? Stamp collecting beckons! :)

Hi Seies1boy.

Am a big fan of Marantz and was very happy with the SR7007. However, highly recommend the Denon.

Denon link with your excellent UD player

Built in Japan verses PRC

Better UI and much better app.

Power supply

Sounds brilliant to my ears with everything you throw at it.

Price reduced by £400 recently.

thanks I already own the x4100 and aware of the Denon link, which makes no difference in my opinion.

looking at increasing the atmos channels and when dtsx eventually comes out. Think I'm going down the marantz route..

Changed my mind and have just ordered the x6200 from Peter Tyson and they have given me a great part exchange on my x4100, so all easy.

im going to have 5.1.4 system with 2 front and 2 rear heights for atmos and dtsx.

Heights or in/on ceiling? The latter is supposed to be better for Atmos.

nice, love the slimmer chassis,im sure it will sound awsome *drinks*

its the same size as my old x4100.

going to get starwars force awakens on this eve to give it a good old blast. Although, I'm sure it will be similar to my x4100, just more powerful. And, the extra amps for when I go 5.1.4 for atmos and dtsx., this is the main reason for upgrading.
