Question for B&W 865 owners

Now that you've had your lovely speakers for a while , 

Do you think the bass on them is really tight ? and how do they perform at lower volumes ?

Got my B&W 685's yesterday. Just stopped listening. So far I'm mighty impressed. Not even had time to (run in) yet. Using 'Direct' on the amp made my wharfdale 9.1's sound 'empty'/ lack of bass. Not so with the 685, they just sound right to me. Balanced. So I probably won't switch it off now, let alone press the loudness button.
