Question: Edifier r2000 db and optical audio

I just purchased these speakers and when I connect it to the TV via optical connection, there is no sound, even with the TV sound settings as they should. My old soundbar works fine with both cables so the problem must be with the speaker, I would say.

Does anyone experienced the same or similar issue?

How was the selected sound setting described in the TVs menu?

As my knowledge is very limited, just changed to pcm, according to the edifier instructions I read. Nonetheless, i was trying with all possible setting combinations in a trial by error approach and none worked.

PCM should have worked (as indeed it does with your soundbar).

All I can suggest, if you've got another optical output (such as that from a CD player), try that into the Edifier optical input.

EDIT: FIXED

On the tv setting, I overlooked the setting Digital audio out volume (for pcm only) Clicked and was set to min..changed to max and works just great.
