I have a quad 306/66 system and have an option acquire some B&W 603 S3 loudspeakers. Will the 306 have enough power to drive them or would an upgrade to a 405/2 or 606 etc be needed?

I would suggest they will be sufficiently able to drive those speakers (unless you are a headbanger and like the people at the end of your street having a good listen too). 🙂
Perhaps a speaker that is a bit more efficient might be better in the long run but the amps should be perfectly adequate.

Thanks for the reply and welcome - I've had the quad since 1991 and it will be good to hear it with more substantial speakers (the rubber mounting in the present bookshelf ones perished during storage). Only a headbanger in the Mahler 2nd symphony sense - but house is well detached!
