QED's website suggests (to my reading) that you need their 'Performance' HDMI-E for 3D http://www.qed.co.uk/206/gb/product/performance/hdmi-e.htm Note that QED mention the items you can connect to. Regret I cannot explain why, but that's my interpretation. I hope that helps.
