If you are keen on the scale that floorstanders can bring, I’d certainly want to audition the newish Acoustic Energy ae109. Whatever you choose it is vital to hear at home, which any decent dealer will accept, so you can experience the positioning effects for yourself.

At 89db they are quite sensitive enough for your amp too. Neats are much less sensitive, so beware.

I have bought some Dali speakers today - for better or for worse!

Had a demo and really really liked them.

I commented to the sales person that speaker technology must have advanced in the past 20 years because the Dalis are a fraction of the price (and size!) that I spent on a pair of Roksan Rok Ones 20 years back - and sound far superior IMHO...
