I have just got my hands on a PS3 which i know can play Blu ray discs as well as being a game console. I currently have a Denon 1940 DVD player which upscales to 1080p and runs through a Panasonic TH42PZ85B plasma TV using HDMi connection.

My question is will i see a noticeable difference in picture quality when watching dvds by switching to the PS3 or am i best keeping with the Denon?

The reason i ask is that i have over 200 dvds which are not blu ray and if the picture quality is not that different i think i would best stick with the Denon

Thanks

Ian

Is there a reason you can't simply test this yourself?

Playing DVDs the Denon probably has the edge.

Since you have both the items in question, why don't/can't you test them out yourself and determine this for yourself?
