PS3 slim to Hi-Fi

I was just wondering if you could tell me how to connect my PS3 slim to my hi-fi gear (preamp, poweramp, cd-player)?

My PS3 is not connected to a TV, but my computer monitor.

So, how do I do it, and what do I need?

Hello! If I remember correctly, you need to use the supplied cable with the 2 RCA cables on the one end, to connect them to a line input of your preamp. Then you would have to tell your PS3 from the audio settings menu to send the sound through that cable. Hope this helps...

Out of curiosity...How do you connect your PS3 to a computer monitor? Is it a TV monitor or just a monitor with DVI and VGA inputs ? As far as I know you can't do that easily...

If it's any help and answers your question i use a HDMI to DVI cable to plug into my HD monitor, for gaming etc. That's mainly because i have a CRT still for TV so don't use the HDMI out on the PS3 for anything else.

Oh yes, now that you say it, the hard part is the VGA connection and not the DVI.

Thanks for clarifying it slipped my mind that you could do it that way...
