I've never bothered too much with the extra features on my PS3, just used for games and Blu-ray. Was having a nosy about it last night and the wife also had on the computer, I noticed that in the media servers bit I think all my podcasts showed up but none of my music which has all been ripped in Apple Lossless. I take it the PS3 does not handle Apple Lossless?

If I were to convert all my tunes into 320kps mp3 would it then pick them up?

Just out of interest, how much space would a thousand songs in 320kps take up? I can multiple up to how many songs I've got.

Cheers.

They would, yes. Another alternative is to find a server that will transcode from apple lossless to WAV on the fly, like TVersity or Eyeconnect, but I don't think you'd be able to browse them - you need to do the conversion to do that.

As for space, I just picked 10 random 320k tracks - 43 minutes, 95.4MB. Generalising very roughly, apple lossless takes about twice the space of 320k.
