ps3 and marantz sr 8001

trying to run ps3 via hdmi through the marantz sr 8001 amp to my sony z4500 v but the picture goes on and off as if resyncing all the time. it works fine straight to the tv an also if i set the ps3 to 1080i output just not with 1080p xbox sky and my pioneer work fine just the ps3.

any ideas or help appreciated

Had a look through the manual for the amp, I can't see anything obvious. Is the Video Convert setting (under Video Setup) set to Off for the PS3 input - I'm not sure if this would affect it but I'm struggling to think of anything else!

EDIT - also, have you tried setting the Func Mode (under Func Input Setup) to both Auto and HDMI for that input as well (page 25 of the manual) - see if one works if the other doesn't.
