Hi all,

Anybody using flat panel TV AND Projector?

I need a way to split the output from my AVR that doesn't disable the HDMI CEC, ie Viera Link. (I find this invaluable when using V+ remote to control AVR volume, via TV).

I tried an expensive 1in 2out HDMI box about 2 years ago but had to send it back as it took out the HDMI control signals.

When trying to track down a suitable distribution box, most do not specify CEC support.

I don't like crawling around the back of my gear to switch the HDMIs.

Any ideas?

Upgrade to a receiver with two HDMI outputs? They're getting more affordable all the time... (And if you don't want/need 3D support, i bet you could bag a bargain model from a couple of years back).

Hi!

I answered this question on this site a while back but I can't remember where (!).
The HDMI output from my Onkyo is fed to an ATEN VS184 HDMI splitter, (1 in and 4 out), which feeds the main LCD, a projector and two bedroom monitors with perfect results.
No quality loss whatsoever and it's HDCP compatible as well.
Mine cost the equivilant of about £60.

I use a Cablesson to split my output from amp to a Samsung TV and Epson projector. Works great.

The CEC between the Samsung C6900 and TV seemed to work fine, but I've turned it off as I'd be wanting to use the projector, but the player would automatically turn the TV on!

1x2 splitter was about £25

Excellent. Thanks, all, for the info.

I love the idea of upgrading the amp but it's not on the cards at the mo. I'll look into the splitters you've suggested.

Many thanks.
