projector showing split screen, not 3D !

Hi All,

i have a sky dish into a hdmi splitter, then into HD Fury III to convert to component

this then feeds my old Sony projector, so far so good

but, when i feed a signal from my ipad using a digital AV adapter the PJ spits the screen into two and displays two images side by side !

same split happens when i use my sons surface with HDMI out

any ideas as to how to fix this very welcome

Does your "old Sony projector" actually support 3d?

Assuming your PJ can handle 3D then you need to select the type of 3D signal it's receiving as the SKY hardware does not do this automatically for you. The option is "Side by side". It may even be an option you can get to directly from the remote control. If the source was a bluray player than it should be automatically switched to the right mode.

Ah, no no

the signal is normal flat, nothing to do with 3D

from the sky dish the projector displays just fine

if a component signal is sent to the PJ from a tablet the PJ shows the film twice, side by side, white stripe down the middle of the screen !

Hi SimonTV, OK, my bad, assumed that you were having problems with Sky 3D. I have re-read your original post more carefully. This does indeed seem strange. Are you feeding the iPad and the Surface directly into the PJ or via the HD Fury?

v odd as the sky system into the fury works just fine

i get two pictures side by side, one on each half of the screen, figure that !

Hi SimonTV,

Unless someone else has any ideas, I would contact HDFURY or go on their forum and ask them, it seems like a fault but can't explain why the Sky box works. Have you tried changing any of the 3D settings on the PJ? Just guessing and trying to come up with things to try.

Exactly how old is this projector? Does it handle progressive scan? It sounds vaguely like there's a mix up between interlaced and progressive scan video and the projector can't handle one of them, without knowing the equipment being used though it's difficult to comment further.

Tnx, it just needed to output resolution reset, not 1080 p

I had tried this on the dip switches, but not rebooted the Fury ...

once rebootd the PJ displays just fine
