The brands with regular updates or new models seem to drop most in price. Marantz often update models every 12 to 24 months, and invariably start dropping in price. Then the new version is launched at the old price before discount, plus £50 to £100. Six months later it’s about half price!

Musical Fidelity have always been great at new developments, but I feel quite often the new one is a beta test. Then the mark 2 is how it should have been. About two years later it’s replaced!
