Problem with NAD C315 BEE Amp

Having a major problem with my 18 month old NAD C315 BEE amp.

It will switch on fine, and the power light and source light light up green.

As soon as the source starts playing- cd, tuner or turntable- the amp switches off. The power light turns red, but the source remains green.

Turning it off and on again or leaving it for a while makes no difference- as soon as the source starts playing, off it goes.

It's used sparingly- maybe 2 hours a week so it's barely ran in. I'm covered through a Richer Sounds warranty but wondered if anyone knew what the root cause may be?

Maybe obvious but have you made sure none of your speaker cables are touching at their ends?

if it is still under guarantee, don't 'fiddle' with the unit, take it in for repair or replacement ... don't think it's speaker cables touching etc ...

if I am correct, I think that these were made in China, so not sure how reliable they are?

ok, just thought I'd mention it as have read a few posts on different forums where there seem to be some reliability issues? ... have however also heard that the servicing / customer relations etc is also not so good?

had an issue with a NAD C545BEE CD player recently (see other thread/posts relating to this) .Had the unit replaced by NAD (Armour) through my trusty HIFI dealer , have to say the service I received from NAD was very good, One of the brand managers (Rob Hunt) took the time to actually phone me up and listened to my concerns with the reliability issue I had with the unit.

May I suggest if you have an issue with the unit to contact NAD direct through their Web site or even give them a ring , thats what I did to get my problem resolved.

I'm afraid I couldn't say the same about the support as jotaboy. Mine developed a fault after 3 months of usage sent it back for repair came back faulty, sent it for a second time came back again faulty, and the same person (rob hunt) suggested that I sent it to them for a 3rd time(??) still not saying anything about a replacement of some sort. Unacceptable after all that i've been through imo.

Thanks for the replies. I removed each source one by one and it came down to the tuner. Couldn't say that I noticed any wires touching casings but I'll need to re-orgasnise my shelves to see if that works.

Thanks.
