have the Kef R300 and find it very good. Never heard before such a good sounding speaker. Unfortunately the black paint on the speaker is not good and the speakers must be back.I don't like bright sound with my music (symfonic metal like Nightwish, rock and pop). But maybe the R300 sounds too dark. But netter this than a bright sound such as the MA RX 6.

Now i'm doubting to take the R500, but i can't heard them. Have they the same sound? Or maybe look at Dynaudio? I've heard the X32 (new series are coming), but found it a litte fresh and no body. But very good highs and not too much bass.

Dynaudios have no body? That's generally one thing they don't lack. I would love a pair of Dyns but they can sound a little overwhelming with bass, unless you give them plenty of room.

PMC, Focal, Quad, Spendor and perhaps Dyns DM range may suit better.

I don't understand if you like the R300 but the finish of the speaker isn't good replace it for a new one and that's it ,why to upgrade to other speakers ???

If you want a neutral floorstander speakers that are not too dark or bright you should consider the Proac Studio 140MK2 ,

I bought it 2 month ago the sound is punchy , detailed and natural . great speaker and received great reviews .
