Problem with bad Freesat signal

I have a Humax HDR, which generally gives me no problems. However, at the moment I keep getting a 'Bad or no signal' message. This doesn't seem to bear any relation to atmospheric conditions, as it's been happening for a week now and the weather has been pretty variable during this time - sun, rain, wind - but that makes no difference to the problem. Also my upstairs neighbour shares my dish and has been getting Freesat without problems.

This happened once before last summer before fixing itself.

The other weird thing is that when you switch the box on, it works for a few minutes before losing the signal. Switching it off and then on again gives me a few more minutes before the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

Presumably customers with Sony Freesat IDTV's?, otherwise why would they be phoning a Sonycentre!

There were problems with the Foxsat HD losing high-band vertical channels, after the firmware upgrade back in November. This has now been fixed with another recent firmware upgrade.

The problem didn't effect the Foxsat HDR though!

It could be lots of things to be fair. It maybe down to......

Faulty/failing LNB.

Dish alignment slightly off.

Poor or loose F connections, at either LNB or the STB.

Water ingress into cable, due to cable damage, or inadequate weatherproofing of LNB connections.

Could even be local interference from B/B routers, Dect phones, video senders etc.

Stb fault, failing PSU's can cause signal problems, though failing PSU is pretty uncommon on the Foxsat HDR so far as i'm aware....

First thing i'd try-If at all possible, try your box on another dish(friend, family or another neighbour) and see if the problem persist's.

If it doesn't, it's likely the problem lies elsewhere,i,e dish/LNB,connections or cabling.
