Problem getting 3D - Samsung LED 61 series - Samsung hd8200

Hi Some help required,

Family have upgraded TV and DVD to a 3D samsung 46" led and 3d Blu ray

The issues are 2 fold

1. I can get normal and blu ray discs to play but once i put a 3d disc in there is nothing, screen black

2. Cant get 2d 3d conversion to work properly we only get two images sid by side or top to top which just leaves dual images

Are we missing something, suggestions welcome

Is the blu-ray connected direct to the tv or through an amp?

If so what is the make and model of the amp?

Its connected direct no amp.

I'm having trouble finding the tv to compare it with my Sammy - what is the exact model number?
