Hi.

Has anyone come across these speakers, I have heard some of the larger floor standers and really liked the sound.

At the moment though I do not have the space for floor standing speakers.

thanks in advance.

The ProAc Tri-Towers are based around the Hexa drivers, so if you've heard them, you'll have a very good idea of what you're in for. They have probably the best top end and midrange of any hi-fi satellite speaker, being very very similar to their much bigger floor standing speakers. With a carefully matched sub, they'll provide you with the most musically convincing presentation from a very small box.

David.

Many thanks for your response.

I think it was the d30's I heard, but just not got the room at the moment.

Do you know how the Proac Response Hexa 5.1 compare to my Definitive Technology.

The Pro 800's are probably the current model, had mine for ten years.

The Def Tech's are generally a more 'in your face' type of sound compared to the ProAc's. If you're referring to the Mythos ones, I was never too keen on them myself - well built and look nice and slim, but if you take into account the quality on offer for the money, there are many around that can outperform, and sometimes at a lower price.

i agree with this. I have owned the hexa sat and they are stunning the midrange and treble are unmatched in any other sat speaker for music and vocal realism. I own the newer ProAc Response Satellite now and these are the same apart from a nicer finished cabinet.I am using them with a bk xls200 and it is an incredible 2.1stereo system.

I also have a set of proac ref 8 signatures here but I haven't compared them side by side yet. The ref 8 sig is an amazing speaker on its own with no sub.
