Pro-Ject Ground-IT E

Anyone have any thoughts on the Pro-Ject Ground-IT E? Seems for people wishing to upgrade this is one of the items that comes out on top....

Your best support for a turntable is probably a wall-mounted shelf......
However, as isolation platforms go, the Project is cheap.
Just remember, for a well set-up turntable, your best upgrade is going to be the cartridge.
Again, adding an isolation platform under a cheap deck isn't going to affect the sound very much.

Sorry HOW much?

Get a slab of marble in whatever colour you want for less than half that.
Unfortunately marble or granite isn't going to isolate anything unless it is placed on sorbothane discs or something.
Complete waste of money on its own.
Decent feet under the turntable or wall mounting is the only way to isolate a turntable from footfall and the like.
It's going to depend on whatever you currently have your turntable sited upon.
Unfortunately the OP is looking at spending loads of money attempting to upgrade a £399 turntable when he should have simply bought a more expensive turntable in the first place....
Currently he is looking to add about £429 in "upgrades"

These things can be helpful, if your positioning is compromised, but they are very location specific ime. A cheap experiment might be to look out for a Mission/Cyrus Isoplat which crop up fairly regularly on eBay. They are probably getting on for forty years old, and a granite kitchen saver or bamboo chopping board for under a tenner, plus three or four feet might do well.

Sorbothane is a choice material for feet or I gather squash balls cut in half can work - but I’ve never tried. Many of us have various things around the home that can be used as an experiment, like some layers of bubble wrap, or foam packing pieces.

Really good advise and help. Thanks for your time - much appreciated.

I'm the original poster OP and the Debut Carbon was around the price I wanted to pay at the time. The upgrades have been worth it - 2M blue, platter and sub platter. I think that'll be that now. But from advise I was given / read, it seemed better than selling at a loss and buying a new turntable. I'm still in two minds regards the Pro-Ject Ground-IT E. I am not sure it's actually needed now to be honest.

Only you can decide that. It depends on where you currently have it placed but doubt it will make a good sonic upgrade.
