Any recommendations under £100 - would very much consider 2nd-hand. Will be used 80% with iPhone 4S (using LOD cable) but would also want to connect it to home amp via line-out. No immediate plans to connect it to a PC fwiw...

Currently considering the Fiio E11 but that's only because I know ****** all about headphone amps :?

Thanks in advance

The E07k is newer, and better from what I hear (mine is very good). But if you have a home amp, why would connect a portable amp to it?

Headphone amp will be primarily used with iPod Classic (not iPhone 4S as stated in my OP) whilst travelling by train.

Stereo amp has no headphone facility, something I've never really missed, but whilst I'm looking around I may as well get something that opens up the option...

Adding an amp to an amp is not good since it reduces sound quality. Best to stick with the headphone amp for headphones.

Consider the E12 Mont Blanc hands down. This is a superb amp and my favourite out the lot, its just better sounding :) Its £109 so £9 over your budget :)

Did you take the plunge? If so what did you go for?

Got the E11 in the end, usually I research these things to the nth degree over serveral weeks/months but the E11 kept on getting the nod if you don't need a DAC... Got it at a reasonable price and would have only lost a tenner on it judging by the prices people are able to sell them on ebay for. That is if I decided it wasn't worth the money of course, but very happy with it indeed!

That said, would be very interested to hear how the models further up the range compare :)
