In my loudspeaker upgrade search ive short listed a couple of new candidates...The proac studio 130 or the PMC GB1 (not the i) anyone ever compaired the two??? Im going for a listen on sat morning im just intersted in hearing a few opinions.

I've not heard the pmc's but did audition the 130's. Lovely sweet treble and vocals/midrange, not the strongest bass though, but it was very controlled. You may well be very happy with it, just my personel choice. The reviews I've read on any pmc's they are highly regarded so I think you have got a good weekend auditioning.
I opted for the 140's to get the better bass and I think they're one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Any reason you are not looking at the "i" PMC's? I am not familiar with the Proac's but they are supposed to be very good with the treble.
The PMCs produce a good amount of bass for their size and with the correct electronics can really sing. What are you intending on running them with? What music do you listen to? How big is your room?

Hi im going for the non i as its half price as is the ex dem proac 130(well nearly)...im sure both will an improvement over my quad 12l's it just a case having a listen and picking my fav, cant wait.
I'll be driving them with a cambridge audio 840a and listening to manly rock/pop (fleetwood macs "man of the world" is on as i type) with a bit of jazz thrown in for good measure.

Got me a nice pair of walnut PMC GB1's impressed so far, the proac was a little laid back for me and not nearly as transparent as the PMC's
