So far deals Samsung LE40B530 offered a deal for £720
Sansung LE40A656A offered £699 or Sony KDL-40V4000 for £699 but ideally did want to spend around £600 , which is best or anyting else recommended

Hi there,

If i was you id probably stay clear of the Sony KDL-40V4000; I have the 32" version in my bedroom and although images when watching upscaled dvd and blu-ray are very good, the Standard def images aren't particularly good. If you can't stretch to the W series then id probably go for something like the Panasonic TXP42X10B which will set you back around £650.

Not sure what any of the other guy's think??? ...

I haven't compared any of the TV's mentioned, but with regard to going 720 as opposed to 1080, the general guidance from the experts seems to be that differences in the performance of various TV's has little to do with whether or not they or Full HD.

The Pioneer Kuro TV's are a classic example. They are regarded by most as just about the best TV's money can buy and until recently (9th Generation Panels) they were only HD Ready, but they still wiped the floor with their Full HD competitors.
