Why not buy from somewhere with a free 5-year guarantee?

Does this company have a good track record?

Any (independent) user feedback?

No, it is an extra 5 year warranty on the 5 years already given, so 10 years!

I have used them twice before and both times they were great. They have been around for ages.

No, to me it appears it's 1 year + 4 years extended = 5 year warranty. It doesn't say 5 + 5 anywhere.

Yep it clearly states...

"THIS GUARANTEE IS ANOTHER +4 YEAR ON THE GUARANTEE YOU ALREADY HAVE" (Their caps.)

They're not very clear, but it appears that you can add an extra 4 years to the 5 year manufacturers warranty, but they also state that the appliance shouldn't be older than 8 years:

Looks like a total of 5 years including the manufacturer's guarantee.

For how long can I protect my appliance on one plan?
If your appliance is still within the manufacturer's guarantee period, you can upgrade your protection to a total of 5 years, including the manufacturer's guarantee. If your appliance is outside the manufacturer's guarantee you can only take out annual protection. In either case, there is no product age limit on annual renewals after the initial period expires.

Your warranty plus their warranty.

I remain skeptical. I don't think it's 5 + 5 years. They're inferring to 1 + 4 years. I do not believe that the price of 1 + 4 years will be the same as 5 + 5 years, depending on how much manufacturer's warranty you've got.

Yes, this says it all. You can only protect for a total of 5 years. In other words, it's useless if you already have a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

I am not 100 per cent sure now either. Look at this though:

You can renew once your warranty has expired.

Actually it clearly states another 4 years on the warranty you already have:
