Hi all

I've got my Rotel ra-04 on a solid pine table behind my iMac, it has plenty of space around it, but a friend has offered me a Cambridge Audio 540C v1, so I was thinking about getting a rack. I've got Monitor Audio BR2s on nexus 6 stands filled with atabites.

I've got a little boy and a baby on the way, so I want to keep the hifi out of reach. My plan is to buy a Pixel PXLS23 which is compact, so it will fit in behind the iMac. http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=PIXE-PXLS23

Any opinions on the pixel racks, they seem cheap and cheerful, so I'm not expecting them to add anything, but I'd hope it would not weaken the system. Keeping it on the table for the moment is unchangeable, though I've got a decent spirit level. I'm aware that the noise and spinning disks of the iMac are influencing things, but a network RAID drive and a mac mini are future purchases.

So are pixel racks worth the money (50 quid) or should I do something else?

thanks

had a look on ebay and saw some atacama equinox second hand.

However if I don't win those, any opinions on the pixel rack?ÿ

I have a 4 shelf hifi rack by Pixel. As you say, they are cheap(ish) and cheerful. Mine is solid, stable, reassuringly heavy, neither a thing of beauty nor an eyesore, and does the job fine. Obviously the build and design is not comparable to something like Atacama, but then that is significantly more expensive.
