Pioneer X-HM81 micro system

Hi,

Has any one heard this micro system or own it? Features look really good, but I can not find any reviews anywhere.

Does anyone know how it compares to the Marantz M-CR603?

Just found this on sale for £299 at Sevenoaks, first id heard of it. Why no reviews? Loving that display, but hope its not just for ipod.

Still intrigued as to why WHF and other magazines/sites have not reviewed this? Even if it's rubbish, it would be good to know. Would it be because Pioneer didn't send them one to review? Can we glean from this that Pioneer didn't believe it would stand up to the competition?

However, it has to be mentioned that a few reviews from customers can be found while searching the web. The most reviews praise the unit. Still a review conducted by WHF would be helpful for us considering a purchase.

I would expect anything of note to be reviewed and at least one item from a range that a particular manufacture has released. And with a little more digging around, I found it has a smaller brother the HM71:

Which looks like an update of the HM70, which WHF did review:

I think these models were launched in Dec 12, so they’re quite new. I’d interested to hear if there is any improvement in sound quality in the HM81 and how it compares with the Marantz etc.
