hello everybody, my name is gerry, i'm italian but i live in switzerland, this is my 1st post here thus thought a little presentation was a must.

could you help me out?

I recently bought a plasma kuro 600a with bdp 320 ampli sc lx72, i also hv a pair of floorstanders m15 (epos) which i used to happily hear as stereo speaker with a creek audio cd/ampli combo, view i like very much these speaker would like to keep them as front channels,

how would you suggest me to complete the sistem (5.1) , satellites/center/sub

your help highly apreciated

ciao/gg

what would you think about adding a monitor audio radius 250 hd as center + 2 r 90 hd on stands for surround ?

which sub ? (b&w 610asw??)

It's important to match the centre speaker as closely as possible to the L&R speakers, to get tonal matching across the front soundstage.

Epos do a centre speaker, the m8i. How well that matches you front Epos speakers I don't know as their current floorstanders are the m16i and m22i. How old are you speakers? I would give Epos a call and see how much if any, the tonal sound has changed between your model and their current range. If it hasn't or not by much, then more Epos speakers would be the way to go, especially for the centre.

hello

thanks a lot for your input, i'hv been at the local epos dealer, they had both my old speakers m15 and the new m16i + m8i,

i really liked both, the m15 match very well with the m8i center, while the m16i, to a very dynamic/detailed mid range they give better bass performance and seem to be a nice improvement over the m15.

the m8i dialogue reproduction is crystal clear and alive,

will trade in my m15 and get the m16i + m8i, still undecided with the surround, mainly due to space available behing the couch the set up i listed to was including a pair of m5i and sounded amazing, still will hv difficulties placin 2 stand + speaker of that size

any suggestions

ciao

Although it isn't as important with the surrouns to tonally match the front and centre, it really is better if you can. Also, I do find that good quality surrounds, do make a difference.

The trouble is, Epos don't seem to have a very large range of speakers. People like Monitor Audio have dipole/tripole speakers as options for surrounds, which are designed to be wall mounted and may fit the bill. But, I don't know if MA and Epos are in the same ballpark, tonally.

Your dealer seems helpfull --- does he have any suggestions? From what you've said, seems like the best solution is to re-arrange the room and fit those M5is in!
