Does anyone know if this is a 1080p set? I seem to find conflicting information when I do a search.

How does it compare to the 5090?

My local currys has one ex-display going for £1097. There is some damage to the speaker case at the bottom but I might take these off anyway if i were to buy it.

Other options are the Samsung PS50B650S for £1399 with a free BDP620 Blu-ray player;  Samsung UE46?7020 for £1599.

Still Interested in Philips 47" 800 series but can't find them anywhere except direct from Philips.

After seeing juddery motion and lack of detail of the Panasonics latest ranges, I think I'm put off these.

This website has the 508Xd (not speakers/stand) new for £ 1094.00. might be worth a look. www.protechstore.com.

I believe the picture is excellent, I have a 507, and I am currently deciding which is the best option between a 508XD new panny G10 or to go a little higher for the new panny V10, (a 5090LX is just out of reach) I just can't decide?

HI,

Protechstore.com is a scam site - do not go there or you will be fleeced - there are a number of other sites run by the same people - it might behove you to do a full check on any site that offers anything too enticing or good to be true. These guys are sophisticated as they price at very reasonable rates to mask that they are scammers.

Good call, Bazzy! How do these people get away with it? Why haven't they been shut down.

Back to the main thread, I am disregarding that Pioneer model now- it is only HD ready.

So really down to the Samsung LED or Plasma, Sony 46W5E or the Philips. Still not found a highstreet seller for the Philips. Richer sounds have the Sony but only in white. Same for john lewis.

Thanks for the heads up, I never buy from internet sites that I have never heard of before, just in case, I usually have a look around, then see what deals I can get from my local Practical Hifi or Richersounds.

I am in the same boat and have found a mint ex-dsiplay 508XD, as it is only HD ready,I am now looking at the Panny G10, V10 or Samsung 6000/7000 LED's, not sure which way to go though as none get 5 star reviews (for picture), and after having a demo the panny's don't float my boat and I like the look of the Samsung especially with the thin mounting plate. But I had my heart set on a new plasma.

Just don't know what to do, let me know what you decide on.
