Hi first post here.
Ive been looking for a 'budget' system for a while and have read a number of reviews etc. Having seen some of the separates they seem a little 'large' for what im looking for. Basically looking for a system that plays cd's with DAb radio, and USB. Streaming radio / music would be ideal but not a neccesity. Sound quality does matter but within a budget (prob £800 max or so)
The Pioneer P01 DAB system sort of looks at what im after with a compact size and from the review a decent sound. However the review mentions that the q acoustics 2020i speakers lack a 'little drive and exceitment'. Im tempted with the q acoustics concept 20 speakers but understand that they use the same drivers albeit the casing makes for a much improved sound.
The Marantz Cr603 also looks an option but not sure if the Pioneer would sound better. Also the Marantz pm6004 / Cd6004 was another option but these look quite large although a standard size for separates, but i guess the sound would be better from these. Any thoughts would be appreciated as i havent demoed anything as yet.
Would the speakers match the Pioneer system? I like a level of detail and clarity but also some warmth from the music - not purely a clinical sound. Hope this makes sense. Have a denon dm39dab plus q acoustics 2010i at the moment. Room size is your average living room.
Many thanks
