Pioneer lx 82 or Sony es 5400

Hi all,

I am thinking about upgrading my amp,it's a Yamaha rx-v 1065,anyone who already auditionned these 2?

Or maybe a Yamaha dsp z7?

Hope to hear some ideas.

Problem is that we don't have the possibility to audition them here in Belgium.

I would say from persoal experience that the Pioneer is better than the Sony that you mention. Didn't get chance to try the Yamaha Z7 but were difficult to find a few months back.

The Z7 has been discontinued (as has it's (much) bigger brother the Z11). All sold out as far as I know and they don't come up second hand very much as they're so good. Hopefully see a replacement later in the year....

I'd hang back. Either wait for the replacement model, or take advantage of someone changing their DSPZ7 when the new ones emerge.

Pioneer make the best sounding and also the best looking receiver's you can buy. You will not be dissapointed with the LX 82 trust me because i auditioned DENON, ONKYO, SONY, YAMAHA and PIONEER amp's and i instantly loved the look and more importantly the sound of the PIONEER SC- LX82. In my book PIONEER are the best.

I have had the Sony ES5400 for a while and then now iam using the Pioneer LX82, and for me the Pionner LX82 is the winner! way better than the Sony ES5400.
