Hi All,

Ive had to have some work done in my lounge so while im in the process of re-plaster boarding the wall where my prize possesion will be mounted Ive discussed with my platerer the possibility of moving the wall forward a few inches (leaving a nice KURO sized hole on the main wall effectively sinking the TV!)

Most of the wall will come out about two inches so the screen wont be totally flush but just sunken two inches (I think my KURO and mount come to about 4 inches so it will effect be party sunk if that makes sense)

I realise that I cant go right to the edges of the screen otherwise I wont have any play to lower the TV onto the wall mount and I also think that the TV will need decent ventilation.

Would you think a 2 inch gap around each side of the TV will be OK ?

Bear in mind that the TV will only be partly sunk so only some heat will be free to go anyhow.

Should I bring that wall forward four inches rather than two so my TV is flush ?

What to do!

The only thing I would advise as a first port of call is ensuring you have a large enough conduit to enable additional/replacement cables to be fed through, that that conduit is direct wtithout passing through battens, and that you have a removeable access panel directly beneath otherwise a simple cable adjustment means removing the whole thing, but now is the best time to sort that sort of thing-and in some cases it is one opportunity only without a lot of additional cost.
