...anyone seen this strange issue? Was watching Inception on Blu-ray, noticed something different about the front panel of the LX71. Basically, the "neon" lights in the centre of the front panel (above the disc tray) usually have a white light in the centre with a blue light either side, whereas there was now only one of the blue lights on (so the "neon" looks kinda off-centre).

Anyway, powered down the player and took the disc out (after watching the film). Turned on the player the next day and the lights are back to normal! Load Inception and they go wrong again! It's very odd, can't really see how a specific disc (or any software issue) could interfere with those lights (that are seemingly purely "decorative"). Just wondered if anyone else had seen the same thing??

Doesn't really matter, as they are just decorative and the performance of the player remains excellent. Just very weird!!

Update: turns out it's not just Inception. Watched North by Northwest today and at some point the light went out again! Seems like maybe it goes out when the player warms up and comes on again when it's cold. I guess a fracture in the solder or board? Given that they're decorative and I'd rather it didn't have those lights anyway, I'll probably just leave it be rather then a potentially expensive repair.

Inception, btw, was great although picture not quite as good as I'd hoped in some scenes and of course a bit less immersive on my 428 than it was at the IMAX!

grdunn123:Isn't there an 'FL OFF' function which will dim and then extinguish the lights completely in 4 steps?

There is, but the "neon" lights only go out on the final step, ie you lose the other elements of the display, which I'd like to keep. Anyway, seems like the player might be gradually solving this problem for me!

Funnily enough, I've lined up Batman Begins next, before re-watching the Dark Knight!
