Pioneer 2-channel?

It seems from dealers that the Pioneer 2-channel kit has been discontinued. Is this true, and if so are there plans for any replacements? Surely they can't be pulling out of 2 channel home audio as well as TV?

That contradicts what the UK press release says:

"In the Home Electronics business Pioneer will continue to develop home audio products as well as DJ equipment and will focus on its specialisation in sound."

It would be a shame to see them pull out of that market, as well as the flat-screen TV one. Their current range is pretty good, particularly their SACD players..

No announcement whatsoever to that effect from Pioneer.

The amps have been off their site for several months now, I don't know, I'm guessing they're not interested in dedicated stereo amps anymore.

Except for their half-hearted all-in-one receiver, methinks they'll go the NaimUniti route or some variation thereof.

manicm:Well they've removed all trace of their integrated
amps on their website. The CDPs still there I think.

Like this...?

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/42/98/405/A-A6-J/index.html

Or this....?

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/42/98/405/A-A9-J/index.html

(Rear views show these are 220-230V 50/60hz versions)

Much more likely - than Pioneer giving up on 2 channel - is that we should be looking at the '.eu' Pioneer website rather than the '.co.uk' website. These products are European rather than just UK only.

Ah huh, I stand corrected, I guess only time will tell...
