Photoshopping in Movies

Why is it that even in "blockbuster" movies that have cost millions to make and spent years in production perfecting CGI effects pay no attention to basic detail.

I cannot remember the last film I watched when a character picks up a family portrait etc., and it didn’t look like it was Photo shopped by a partially sighted 10 year old?

However big their budgets are it seems like it's never enough.

Take Transformers 3 for example. Some of the shots are lifted straight from 'The Island' and had fighting robots superimposed over the top (there's a comparison piece on Youtube if you want to see for yourself).

Maybe they should pay the actors less.:)

And sadly Bluray only adds to the issue, I rented "I am Legend" on DVD and thought what a great film, so when I saw a copy going cheap on Bluray it was purchased, however,the sequence in the Mustang at the start is picked apart by the detail of high def.

Sad really
