Whatever happened to these that were expected in the Spring?

The original design was that the noise canceling would not require a battery, drawing current instead from the Apple device. Now that I think about it, that was way too risky. Now they have a non-NC headphone that's Lightning, and a NC1/27 (in the U.S.) that uses a standard plug.
