Hey

Whats the Phase button all about, there is a lot of people saying that when you run MCACC it sets the phase wrong.

How do I know if its right or not?

Thanks

Canada16,

The phase knob (0 - 180) is almost always left at 0 when you run the the auto calibration if your speakers are 'in phase'.

If the bass is found to be still somewhat lacking, then you can adjust this knob incrementally to compensate for this.

I have had quite a few different subwoofers and I have always kept this at 0, never finding the need to do anything with it.
Have a look at this ----> http://www.miragespeakers.com/na-en/support/faqs/how-do-i-set-subwoofer-phase-details/

Sorry should be more clear.

The setting on the Pioneer SC-LX72, it has a phase setting on it, and it has like three settings.

From other posts, including the review on what hifi of the sc-lx83 people are saying the amp itself is setting ht ephase wrong.

Not sure if that makes sence.

Thanks

Hi canada16

See page 65 of your manual for what it does.

No problemo!

Just this was one of the things that tempted me about the SC-LX82, with my mish-mash of speakers. *sigh*

You still looking for a Z7?

You wont be sorry with the pioneers.

My fiance hates all the upgrades, ect, but after everything was complete last night she came in and I was listning to some matchbox 20 and she said, OMG I cant hear every instrument.

We were both amazing by the detail, and they have not even broke in, as only had them for a couple days, and have brand new QED XT cables on the front as well, so I am expecting good things in the months to come.

I'm really keen on a sc-lx82, but feel that I should demo the Z7, just to prevent any post purchase dissonance.

Mrs. scene has pretty much said that an upgrade to the amp is verboten

, as we've "got a really good amp" (the AVR250) and "you've spent a fortune already this year". I could argue the first point, but the second is a little hard to fight, given my profligate spending on equipment in the past 12 months

I feel I can just dream about the sc-lx82, hope I win the lottery and save up for an sc-lx84 in 2013
