Does anyone know if the current actives still use the same amplifier plates as when they came out?

They're being gently modded and the updated model should be out towards the end of the year. At least that's what one if the AE guys said at the Cranage show in June.

Perhaps @AEJim could confirm if that's still the case when he's got a minute?

You're right. The 40th Anniversary model looks to be about £1500, the AE1 actives clock in at £1250 and I think that price will remain the same when the modified version comes out.

The standard AE1 is £1100.
