Does anybody have any experience with the Peachtree decco65 integrated amp?

I would be partnering it with a pair of Kef LS50s. My reason for choosing this amp is the built in DAC and good power output.

Hi Wilro,

i was thinking about demoing it, because it looked like a neat solution. But then a second-hand Decco2, i. e. the old model with class A pre and class A/B power, came up on Hifi Wigwam.

So far it seems fine, driving my SF Veneres. But what with the whirl of Xmas and now being on holiday, I haven't really put it through its paces.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Matt

Hi Wilro, Did you end up going for the decco65? Would be very interested to hear your view.

I am also considering decco65 (with apple tv) as I stream most of my music. The other option is NAD D7050.

Hey, I've got a Peachtree Decco65 that I use with Golden Ear Triton Series 7. I use this with my Apple TV. What kinds of things were you looking to know? I'm pretty new to the world of High End Audio, so I'll do my best...

In the end no I didn't get a Peachtree as there isn't anyone near me who stocks it.

I ended up with a Leema Elements Integrated + DAC in the end and am very happy with it.

I heard this amp today at the Bristol show, partnered with some £7000 Golden Ear floorstanders.

I asked about demo's and they said they have a 14 day returns policy.

From what I could see this amp does not have a remote (or the exhibitor had lost his).

Most certainly should have. The sensor is in the centre bottom of the facia.

Driving £7k speakers, wonder what the exhibitor is trying to prove......... :?

The Peachtree has good reviews and I would like to audition it but like you there are no local dealers. I live between two major cities (Manchester and Liverpool) but the Peachtree website gives a dealer in Doncaster (approx 180 miles round trip) as the nearest one to me.

The Peachtree web site also indicates that the Decco65 does include a full function remote control (apparently no tone controls though!)

To clarify - I asked about a demo locally (South Wales or the South West) and was given the 14 day return policy as the answer.

Initially the amp was connected to some small standmounts, but he swapped them over to some large floorstanders - and then said 'this will give you an idea - although they are £7000 worth'. :wall:

Everytime he altered the volume he walked over to the amp, I looked around for a remote but couldn't see one. Should have asked really - I thought it was a bit strange

Could that have been the Triton7s ($700 each)? I thought Golden ear's top model were the Triton2s, at $1500 each... :?

Maybe - I'd just come straight out of another room playing Massive Attack too loud - so my hearing might have been impaired
