Just got pirates of the carribean 2 and 3 on blue ray and have being trying to play the uncompressed 5.1 track.I have a philips bdp 3000 and a denon 3310 avr .The philips is set to bitstream out and while the denon will play dd5.1 and dts in sd and also dolby true hd and dts true hd master audio it gives the lr stereo symbol as incoming and the 5 channel symbol as outgoing but it sounds like pro logic and the display shows pl2 cinema to confirm this.Is this correct or is there a problem perhaps with the denon. All other discs and sound formats play ok just the uncompresed 5.1 track.Dont think im doing anything wrong but your help as always is always welcome.

I'd try the Philips output set to auto, with the PCM downsampling off and the digital output also set to auto.

The Denon should be set to auto in the input detect mode setting.

Thanks for the speedy reply Andrew, will check settings again but if memory serves I tried varying settings but to no avail.Just read review of sound for 5.1 pcm and confirmed it was stunning whereas mine was judt a pro logic mix although as i said the dd5.1 mix plays ok.

Thanks again

Pat Brady.
