partnering equipment for grado GS1000 headphones?

i am seriousley considering buying a headphone based system around the grado GS1000. could any of you guy's advise me on what source i should shortlist to partner the GS1000's? should i be looking for a cd player and headphone amp of equal price to that of the grado's? also how dso you think the cyrus cd 8 se would sound partnered with the GS1000's?

I do not have personal experience with this, but the designer said he used GS1000 as his main reference phone of choice to tune the circuit.
