I've noticed that the majority of posts relating to both lcd and plasma tv's seem to relate to the popularity of the Pana...would most of you say that Panasonic now lead the way in terms of picture quality? I've always been a Sony fan and in the past have always bought one of their Trinitron tv's, but very rarely do Sony get a mention on the forums despite all the advertising for the Bravia. Opinions please...

Well, for starters, Panasonic is the number one bestselling brand in plasma TVs (and in top three for LCD, too), so people are bound to get excited about new models.

Secondly, they've got many new models out while we're still second-guessing what Sony and others are really going to deliver this year.

Ergo, if you need to buy a TV right now - which many Forum posters do, because let's face it, we're a Buyer's Guide! - then you're going to be discussing what's hot and in the shops!

PS: Advertising? What's that got to do with what anyone buys? Certainly not from our editorial perspective.

Mmm...what are the top two brands of lcd Clare? Samsung must be there surely? I thought Sony kept launching a multitude of new tv's? They always seem to have new lines coming out..so much so that I found it confusing at one time! ;) Having said that Panasonic seem to be following this trend at the moment?! Re advertising...well if I see a product advertised I will often go and have a look in the shops to see what I think of it I must confess.

id say Sony top and Samsung 2nd... surely the W2000 and W3000, and X series outsold Samsungs M8, R8 and F8?
