I've made my mind up to get the Panasonic 65vt65

but I would like to get it from John Lewis online with the problems some people are having with Panasonic faults

so what's the best way to get them to price match. As I've seen this £2700 at 3 different retailers

and John Lewis has it listed at £3499 so it's a big difference

thanks Colin

Great choice. My answers are above.

Only 9 in stock of the 65 inch VT65:

http://www.johnlewis.com/panasonic-viera-tx-p65vt65b-plasma-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-65-freeview-freesat-hd-and-voice-recognition-with-2x-3d-glasses/p425865

50 inch VT65 out of stock again, and only 4 of the 55 inch VT65. I do wonder how long it will take before they are all out of stock. :?

Nearly the end of an era?, probably what JL want given their somewhat bumpy ride with Panasonic Plasma's in the past 2 years....

It is possible you might find that Panasonic has had the bumpy ride with JL behind the scenes.

Probably a bit of both...

Given the 'draw' of the 5 year guarantee from JL, and the apparent failure rate of Panasonic PDP's, I'm sure they have had a lot to talk about!

And how sure are you that the 5 years is JL's own or at least part of the supply condition-after all, Panny were offering 5 years not so long ago through their franchise shops.

Given that all TV's from JL come with a 5 year warranty, and have done for many years, I don't think that this is a Panasonic warranty... (I may be wrong)

Panasonic have been offering 5 year warranties from certain dealers for a few years now, with the big exception of the likes of Curry's, Comet (when they were trading) which I believe is not because they think their product has inherent faults, but because it gives them a USP in the market place.

I may be wrong too but I think it may be a case of JL "encouraging" all suppliers to step up to the mark on the 5 years or they have a very good insurance policy. I do understand the returns policy of "successful" retailers is a challenge to some suppliers but maybe not others.

Thanks for all the replies

I really do fancy the 50" version of this. £1800 ish from John Lewis, Total Digital doesn't seem to do it...
