I know the Z1 has been given the thumbs down by WHF but I have seen it being sold for just under £2,000. So does this make it a better buy and not the silly £4,000 plus it was first seen?

Can anyone on here tell me if they have seen this model and is it any good?

I do not wish to have one but with it now being at the lower price was wondering what you think.

TheHomeCinemaCentre:I would urge some caution with that price as it may be a mistake.

Agree. Does seem like an extraordinary discount on Panasonic's brand-new, flagship set. Suspect web gremlins might be at work. Just tried phoning them, but their lines close at 2pm. Worth calling tomorrow I think.

Well it was down at £1300 about 3 weeks ago!! so i emailed them asking if that price was correct because it seemed like it had to be a misprice (maybe £4300) i got an automated response and then they changed the price like 3 times that day and eventually it landed at that. So who knows whats going on with them?ÿ

Well who knows whats going on with this plasma only thing for sure is Panasonic have with this model lost the goal of a great image and gone off in the wrong areas in my book. I only hope that the G15 model gives me hope over getting a new Panasonic to replace my older one!

I think that's a tad unfair - the Z1 is the best Panasonic set we've yet to test (it just doesn't quite match Kuro-quality). It's also got wireless capabilities, which are now good to go, thanks to this Ofcom announcement.

It's just the price that doesn't add up, in our book - especially when you can still (just) pick up a Pioneer for half the price.

If someone really WAS selling the Z1 for £2K - and we reviewed it as such - it'd be at least a four-star, quite possibly a five-star TV.

Ok I am a fan of Panasonic plasma's yet after the review of the V10 finding it hard not to want another Panasonic. So still trying to sort out a viewing of the 42V10 and the 46" 7020 Lcd side by side.

Thanks for your views

Just seen the Panasonic TXP46Z1 in Hughes Electrical at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich for £1999.99 with a 5 year g'tee. They have them in stock to take away but only have a few left. Also the 54" version is £3499.99. Give them a call on 01473 712444 to see if there are any left! This tv looks amazing!

if your buying it because of its looks and features , aswell as its picture quality , then it may be worth £2k ...

but if picture quality is the main aim , then the v20 should be better , maybe even the g20 , for a fair bit less..
