I can't believe that no one has noticed page 15 of this months issue.

After all the controversy surrounding the Panasonic TX-P42G20 4 star review.

Maybe it's a misprint.

daveh75:What controversy?

I think he might be referring to the Panasonic fan club getting quite upset when an equivalent Sony model got 5 stars and the Panasonic got 4 stars. There was absolute outrage from some of the Panasonic fans, I think one even got banned, all quite amusing though

Yep. That's right.

I must say though, when you look at the 46-47 tv test in this months issue the star ratings don't seem to make sense. The final ratings don't seem to reflect the picture, sound and feature ratings when compared set to set.

I'm not trying to start a debate just something i've noticed.

They do say that the LG has the best picture but the Sony has a gret picture for a lot less money, making it the better value for money. after all in real world terms you could get the Sony tv, Denon 1910 amp and Boston acoustics Soundware XS for the price of a LG. Obviously cables would be extra but that's a good first time set up.

Is it just me or does that OP make no sense atall? The LG 42LE7900 is reviewed on page 15 this month. Plus the Pana 46G20 still gets 4 stars this month when up against a Sony 46EX503 at exactly the same price...so where is this 5th star supposed to come from?

Think the OP is referring to the 5 stars printed next to the Pana TX-P42G10 in the 'Also Consider' panel which is a production error. It should be four stars, as in the original May Supertest.

Thanks for pointing that out Andy. No problem it just caught my eye and I thought I'd mention it. All sorted now though.

Cheers.

From memory, aren't there also five stars for the G20 in the buyers guide at the back of the mag ? Me thinks there may be a Panny mole within your ranks !!

Your memory fails you - the G20 is definitely four stars in Buyer's Guide, and here online. Last year's 42in G10 remains there as a five-star set, however, which may be confusing you...

Forum posts complaining? Really? I didn't notice

But seriously - as we've said all along, it's a great set that should definitely be considered when you're looking for a new TV. That opinion hasn't changed.

Well, I guess this is really about semantics. We have been more than just Max that, I wouldn't say complained, but shared our puzzlement about the rating, as the TV has received a lot of top marks.

And yes I know, not from HCC

So Hertfordshire County Council weren't totally convinced either?
