Panasonic TX-32LZD85 - How is for watching Sky Football and PS3 gaming

Hi All,

I have decided to buy either a Panasonic TX-32LZD85 or Sony KDL-32W4000, and i cant make my mind up, even after reading many post! So i was wondering if any one has bought a Panasonic TX-32LZD85 and used it with SKY to watch football and play fast action games on the ps3.

Does the Sony still come out the winner?

Your opinion would be gratefully appreciated.

A very well respected HDTV magazine has recently reviewed this Sony, and was distinctly underwhelmed !

They said it was good on HD, but poor on everything else. They also tested the HD ready Panasonic equivalent and thought it was much better. From what I have seen, I think their assessment was spot-on.

I have recently bought the Pana having compared both sets side by side at JL Bristol. The sets are very close in capability but for me the image was more watchable on the Pana and the real killer for me was that the Sony couldn't tune all the Freeview channels the Pana could on the same aerial. I live in a relatively poor freeview area and so this swung the deal in favour of the 32LZD85 for me - especially as my Pana ex77 dvd/hdd recorder tuner delivers crystal clear sharp images already.

It also helped that JL had the Pana at £649 and the Sony at £699!!

I hope this helps? The mags all seem to think we only watch HD or Sky which is a little frustrating - I don't plan on giving Mr. Murdoch any of my money!
