I have decided to by a Panasonic V series and their blue ray recorder in the New Year and to use the freesat which I will need installing, I am a bit confused how many cables will I need I was told in one shop that I would need 2 to enable me to watch one channel and record another one or to record two at once, then in another shop I would need three this would be fore freeview does this mean I would no longer need my exsisting ordinary aerial cable any more. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

If all you'll watch is the Freesat, you only need two cables from the dish.

If you intend to watch Freeview you'll need an additional cable from a rooftop aerial.

Cheers,

Hi

It depends if you are using the built in freesat tuner on the set or are you going to use a freesat PVR like foxsat.

if you are using the built in tuner then you will only need 1 cable but you wont be able to pause /record the tv programes.

if your going to use a freesat box like the foxsat HD PVR then you will need 2 cables, this is a bit like sky +

One cable to watch live tv & the other to record.

Hope that helps
